Sohail Mushtaq
Associate Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry

Dr Sohail Mushtaq is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at the University of Chester and is course leader of MSc Human Nutrition. He leads the Micronutrient Metabolism Research group within the university and his research focuses on the role of vitamin D in health and disease, as well as the biochemical and physiological role of micronutrients in health. Sohail completed a PhD in Nutritional biochemistry and then went on to work on a Food Standards Agency intervention study. This was to determine the functional significance of marginal riboflavin status, with particular respect to iron absorption in young women.
