Joost is a Program Manager at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research. In his program many Wageningen scientists are involved from a broad range of expertise. Guided by the interconnectedness of food production, consumption, and environmental impact, we’re focusing on innovative solutions required to produce sustainable, safe and nutritious foods. In a world where nearly a billion people struggle with hunger and two billion compromise their health with nutrient-poor diets, the need for innovations in this field is clear with the precondition to manufacture these products in the most sustainable way.    At Wageningen, he takes a leading role in supporting the food industry by facilitating access to applied science and technology and enable the development of innovative manufacturing and processing technologies that enhance the safety, health benefits, and environmental sustainability of food products.
