James is the Farms Director for Newcastle University, a mixed farming operation in Northumberland with dairy, beef and arable alongside research and teaching which has been transitioning to a regenerative approach. James also farms in partnership with his wife on a 300 acre tenanted farm with arable and sheep, together with a holiday cottage and fishing lake where using regenerative techniques the farming operations are used to enhance the environment. James is a council member of the Cereals and Oilseeds Council, a member of the NFU National Combinable Crops Board and recently completed his Nuffield Scholarship.
