Welcome and thank you for joining me this weekend.

If we want a bright, healthy future we mustn’t wait to start building it. It might be an old saying, but the adage there’s no time like the present is actually pretty good advice. We know for instance that if we want to live a healthy life in older age, we need to eat well, exercise and keep our brain active when time is still on our side. Prevention and preparation rather than cure.

Good nutrition must start when we are young, to fuel the mind and the body, and to make sure children turn into healthy adults with a good understanding of food and its benefits. In this week’s feature we look at the importance of school meals and how different countries tackle child nutrition. Don’t miss Feeding future generations: school meals from around the world.

It’s exactly the impact that the food industry had on the health of a child – and a nation at large – that spurred Harriet Lamb to make a career change. Listen to her harrowing but ultimately uplifting tale in The heartbreaking story that inspires WRAP CEO.

Knowing what vitamins and minerals could aid our health and wellbeing – and if we should take them at all – can be a bit of a minefield. We investigate in Nutraceuticals: understanding the function and benefits of nutritional supplements.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Stef
